Ellen's sweet anniversary message to Portia

They have been battling split rumours for months but now Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi have silenced reports that they are headed for a divorce.

Both of the Hollywood A-listers took to Instagram to post sweet messages to one another in honour of their ninth wedding anniversary.

The couple, who have been together since 2004, tied the knot in August 2008 after the laws changed on same-sex marriage in California, where they both reside.

Ellen posted a throwback photo from their wedding to her Instagram saying: “Being her wife is the greatest thing I am.” Aww!

Portia also took to Instagram to post a sweet snap of the pair, writing a more light-hearted caption reading: “We’ve been together so long that not only do we look like kids in this picture, but it was take with a camera! Happy 9th, Thing (sic)".

As of late, rumours have been swirling that the couple were heading for splitsville and Portia, 44, was spotted sans her wedding ring while out for lunch back in May.

They also listed two of their properties for sale back in April – their Beverly Hills condo and Santa Barbara mansion.

We’re so glad these rumours aren’t true because this couple is just too sweet not to last!
