Exclusive: Matty J 'still in love with Georgia'

He hopes to find love on The Bachelor Australia this year, but there might be one important thing that’s stopping Matty J from doing so.

Fans all saw how devastated the 30-year-old was last year when Georgia Love dumped him on The Bachelorette, and according to one eliminated contestant, the hunk has reason to not really be over his first TV love.

Contestant Sharlene, who was shockingly given the boot during Thursday’s episode before the rose ceremony, tells Be: “I can imagine that Georgia would be an absolutely amazing person… I wouldn’t blame him if he still had feelings for her”.

While it’s been months since Georgia chose Lee Elliott over Matty in The Bachelorette final, Sharlene points out just how infatuated Matty had become with the newsreader during the 2016 series.

“I mean, it takes me a lot longer than a few months to get over someone I’ve fallen in love with,” she tells Be.

“So there is a strong possibility that he could still be in love with her,” she continues, before adding, “but I wouldn’t know”.

So far brunette jewellery designer Laura has been dubbed as a hot favourite to win, and it does no harm that the stunner shares a striking resemblance to Georgia.

Meanwhile in an interview with Popsugar last October, Matty made no secret he still had a thing for Georgia at that time.

"As hard as it is to say this, my feelings towards Georgia haven't changed at all really. I still miss her. I still love her. It's hard," he said.

The Bachelor Australia airs on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30pm on Channel Ten.
