Rapper who stared defiantly at eclipse suffers eye damage
Here’s a tip for free: Don’t stare at a solar eclipse without protective eyewear.
Case in point: Rapper Joey Bada$$.
The 22-year-old decided to forgo all scientifically sound advice and chose not to wear special glasses during Monday’s coast-to-coast total eclipse across the United States.
Instead, he defiantly turned his naked eye to the sun and stared.
After it was over the rapper took to Twitter to share his experience with fans.
Am I crazy for watching the eclipse today w no glasses? I've sungazed before and afterwards saw colors for a whole day. I didn't die tho

But he wasn’t worried and later wrote:
This ain't the first solar eclipse and I'm pretty sure our ancestors ain't have no fancy eyewear. Also pretty sure they ain't all go blind.

Curiously, a few hours later, the rapper announced he would be canlling a number of shows due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, my Cleveland, Chicago & Toronto shows on the #EverybodyTour are cancelled.

Fans were pretty quick to pick up on just what those ‘curcumstances’ could be.
