Game Of Thrones fans have lost their minds after seeing a photo where a young George R.R. Martin bears a striking resemblance to Jon Snow, aka actor Kit Harrington.

A BuzzFeed editor spotted the old retro shot of author George R.R. Martin and posted it to Twitter side-by-side next to a snap of Kit writing: “Wanna see something wicked f***ked up?”

The shots show both men wearing thin-framed eyeglasses, sporting the same coloured shaggy hair and similar moustaches.

Fans were quick to jump on the bandwagon retweeting the comparison and commenting on it with one Twitter user sayingL: “How dare you make me look at this with my own eyes,” and another “This is very very weird.”

Another user even when as far as playing on the show’s famous catch phrases posting, “The 70s are dark and full of terrors.”

The Twitter comparison has been retweeted more than 53,000 times and left more than 133,000 comments.
