Angelina's serious health battle
After opening up just last month about suffering Bell's Palsy, it's been revealed Angelina Jolie is battling another serious health condition.
Brad Pitt's 42-year-old ex has varicose veins, which if left untreated, could lead to life-threatening blood clots, reports Radar Online.
According to the Australian & New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgery website, "varicose veins are abnormally swollen and tortuous veins, often visible just beneath the skin", and caused when blood flows in the wrong direction.
Radar Online reports that the actress is keen to have the highly visible veins removed so she can wear shorter dresses with confidence, and one surgical procedure that could help is "stripping".
"Angie knows ‘stripping’ the veins will hurt, and she’ll be off her feet for weeks. But she’s tired of having to cover up all the time," a source tells the publication.
"People will have a field day if they ever see how veiny her legs have become! She’s really self-conscious about it."
It's also been said that the condition could worsen if left untreated, with another source saying, "Angie’s been told that because she travels by plane so much, those spidery veins could develop into deep vein thrombosis".
Over the years fans have noticed veins across Angelina's arms and on her forehead, and in 2014 it was reported that she was considering getting surgery to remove the visible veins from her arm.
An insider told National Inquirer at the time that the actress "has always had a complex about how her veins jut out" and was considering treating them before her wedding to Brad Pitt.
Meanwhile last month Ange told Vanity Fair that she suffered from Bell's Palsy last year – a virus that affects facial nerves and saw one side of her famous face droop.
