Matty denies romantic getaway with Laura

With claims swirling that he was caught on a romantic getaway with the winner of The Bachelor, Matty J is trying to douse the flames to avoid a potential spoiler for the season.

After reports Matty and Georgia Love look-a-like Laura Byrne were caught attempting to throw off paparazzi and meet up for a secret rendezvous over the weekend, the 30-year-old reality star has denied he was anywhere but at home while chatting to Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny.

"Look I wasn’t at the snow, it was an old pic that was from a few weeks before but I was in Bondi the entire weekend. So I definitely wasn’t away that weekend," Matty told the radio trio when asked why he posted a photo to social media of himself at the snow, if he wasn't actually there.

When pushed by Chrissy on why Laura was supposedly "taken away with several car changes" if they weren't together Matty remained coy replying: "That’s a very good question. You would have to speak to Laura."

Touché Matty, touché.

Matty also denied the whispers he was "dating" Bachelorette Sophie Monk and Sunrise host Sam Armytage!

"That is in the pile of rumours that are very untrue. My mum called me up actually and said 'Matt are you dating Sam Armytage, it that who you’re dating?' You read those articles and none of them are true," he added.

"I did catch up with Sophie and we had a chat, it was nice to compare stories and kind of give her insight into what she’s about to go through but that was it, purely a friend catch up."

And after getting his heart trampled on by Bachelorette Georgia last year, Matty says the thought of hurting many of the ladies vying for his heart is something he constantly thinks about.

"I’m really aware of what I’m going to inflict on somebody because I was there myself. I know first hand how painful it came be.

"It’s a thought that creeps up every now and then and it’s kept me up at night. It’s really really difficult. I guess you have to be selfish in a way knowing you are doing this not to please everyone but ultimately to please yourself and fall in love."
