The truth behind working with Tom Cruise

He might be one of the biggest action stars in Hollywood, but Annabelle Wallis was determined to keep up with Tom Cruise when filming The Mummy.

The 32-year-old star chatted to Be when in Australia earlier this year for the Sydney premiere of the flick and said she wasn't going to stop until she had a running scene on-screen with Tom! Check out Be's chat with Annabelle in the video above!

"It was wonderful because it was such a test for myself and I was like 'Well if he can do it, I can do it' and I felt very much willed by that conviction in my head that whatever he could do I could do too," Annabelle told Be of her action-packed role in the movie.

And while she originally given a running scene with the 55-year-old actor, Annabelle revealed Tom made sure scenes were added when he spotted her training in the gym.

"There were no running scenes and I was adamdant I was going to run on screen with Tom Cruise because everyone, my boyfriend, my brother, they were like 'Nobody runs with Tom Cruise. If you run with Tom Cruise you've made it' and I was like 'I'm gonna run with Tom Cruise!'"

"So I would time it in the gym when he would come in I would be running on the treadmill and he was like 'Hey you run really well, we're going to run together!' and I literally almost cried, it was the biggest moment of my life I think," the English actress joked.

Annabelle also worked with Australia's own Russell Crowe, saying she was in awe of the way he and Tom worked.

"It was incredible, a chance of a lifetime, an opportunity of a lifetime and they're so wonderful. They're incredible actors. And all you can do when you work with people like that is sit back on set and observe and learn from them, and I learnt so much."
