The 'awkward' reason Ariel always shows her booty

Modern Family star Ariel Winter often shares revealing snaps on social media, and now she's hit back at the critics who've taken a dig at her for flashing the flesh.

Taking to Twitter, the 19-year-old says it's not as though she intentionally goes out of her way to put her curves on show, but rather t's the way her clothes fit.

"I literally do not try and show my a** when I wear shorts...my a** just eats them up and then I don't notice...awkward af," Ariel writes.

One of her recent Instagram videos may very well demonstrate the actress' point, as she's seen twerking away in a pair of mini shorts.

This isn't the first time the TV star has defended her look.

Taking to Twitter in July, she wrote: "Pretty annoyed about the focus on the fact that I wear shorts, and the commentary that I'm 'squeezing' into them or the idea that it's not OK for me to wear shorts".

"It's SUMMER. Get over it. It's hot, I'm obviously going to wear minimal clothes. I'm not going to suffer in a turtleneck to please anyone," she added.

"I'm not a wh*re because I wear shorts and tank tops. I'm a normal girl. Also, I'm not 'squeezing' into anything. My shorts fit me and everything I'm doing is just fine."
