George and Amal 'done' with babies

As they step back into the spotlight after welcoming twins, George Clooney has revealed he and wife Amal won't be adding to their family.

While the glamourous couple have been back dazzling the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival in recent days, the 56-year-old star said having two babies late in life is a major reason he and his 39-year-old wife aren't in a rush to give daughter Ella and son Alexander any other siblings.

"I already had them quite late," George confessed to The Hollywood Reporter, however Amal praised her husband, telling the publication George was a "great" hands-on dad!

"My house is filled with the warm sounds of babies crying. You should see when my friends show up and see me change a diaper, the laughter that comes from them," the human rights lawyer said.

"I go, 'I know, I know.' I’ve given them so much s**t for so many years, I deserve every bit of it!"

Meanwhile the world waits with baited breath for a glimpse of the Clooney twins!

George also opened up on the moment he popped the question to Amal, saying he wanted the proposal to be romantic and traditional.

"Over champagne, after dinner, I told her there was a lighter to light the candle in the drawer, and she reached back and pulled out a ring. I did all the stuff, got down on my knee and did all the things you’re supposed to do," the Ocean's Eleven star said.

"I had a playlist ... and I was waiting for this song, Why Shouldn’t I? It’s a really good song about why can’t I be in love? And it played, and she’s like, 'Holy s**t!'

"And she just kept staring at the ring, going, 'Oh, my God.' It was 20 minutes of me on my knee, waiting for her to say yes, because she was so shocked."

In the end it all worked out, with George and Amal marrying in a romantic Venice ceremony back in 2014.
