Police called to Aaron Carter's home

After revealing he was involved in a serious car accident, police have been called to Aaron Carter's home after receiving an anonymous call reporting a suicide threat.

The St. Petersburg police department responded to a call and arrived at the 29-year-old's home at 10pm Thursday (US time), however failed to make contact with the singer, documents obtained by E! News show.

The outlet adds the documents claim Aaron "told a friend he was going to kill himself and threatened to take Xanax, Klonopin and Dusters", and while no one answered the door police noted a car was in the driveway and they were able to see into the house through open blinds, but did not see anyone.

The documents also stated there was "no odor and no signs of distress" and everything appeared to be "OK".

Authorities had previously made three welfare visits to his property within 24 hours earlier in the week, responding to another anonymous caller who claimed Aaron had "recently tried to buy a gun and had made threats of harm against others" including members of his family.

It's been a troubling week for the I Want Candy singer who shared a message to fans saying he was going to "disappear" from social media while he put the finishing touches on his next album.

Hours earlier Aaron had taken to social media to share a detailed account of a car accident he as involved in.

It's been a rocky year for Aaron, after he was arrested for DUI in July. Shortly afterwards the singer came out as bisexual in an emotional letter to fans, before ending his relationship with girlfriend Madison Parker.
