Family 'fears relapse' for Aaron Carter

It's been a troubling week for Aaron Carter, after police were called several times for "welfare checks" and he was involved in a serious car accident.

But now the singer's family are concerned Aaron's at risk of a relapse and are "desperate to get him help", according to TMZ.

The outlet adds with the former child star sharing thoughts such as "I can't take it anymore" and "I'm losing it" on social media, his family, which includes big brother and Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, are worried he's suffering a "mental breakdown".

A source close to the Carter family tells the online publication that they're "worried he's relapsing by inhaling the aerosol spray used to clean keyboards", adding that was the reason behind his 2011 rehab stint.

Earlier this week Aaron took to social media to assure fans he is "doing okay" after he was involved in a serious car accident.

The 29-year-old detailed the incident saying he was on the road to recovery despite suffering a broken nose and injuries to his arms and legs.

However the week only seemed to get worse for the I Want Candy singer, after police were called to Aaron's home after receiving an anonymous call reporting a suicide threat.

The St. Petersburg police department responded to a call on Thursday (US time), however failed to make contact with the singer, documents obtained by E! News showed.

The outlet adds the documents claim Aaron "told a friend he was going to kill himself and threatened to take Xanax, Klonopin and Dusters", and while no one answered the door police noted a car was in the driveway and they were able to see into the house through open blinds, but did not see anyone.

The documents also stated there was "no odor and no signs of distress" and everything appeared to be "OK".

Authorities had previously made three welfare visits to his property within 24 hours earlier in the week, responding to another anonymous caller who claimed Aaron had "recently tried to buy a gun and had made threats of harm against others" including members of his family.
