Does this one thing give away The Bachelor winner?

The Bachelor Australia grand finale is only hours away, with fans divided on whether Matty J will choose Laura Byrne or Elise Stacy at the end of the journey.

But there could be an aesthetic hint that gives away who will nab that final rose.

The Channel Ten reality show's Instagram account has shared a snap of Laura and Elise dressed to impress for tonight's episode.

Who will Matty J choose as the winner of The Bachelorette? Laura (L) stuns in white tonight, while Elise (L) dazzles in gold, and if previous years' fashion trends are examined, the one in a lighter colour always wins. Source: Channel Ten

Laura stuns in an off-white cropped blouse and a matching skirt with embossed leafy detail, while Elise dazzles in a gold dress with a plunging neckline and sultry thigh-high slit.

But could the colours of the girls' outfits give away the winner?

A look at the trends in previous finale outfits could prove this is very well the case.

If we take a look back at Blake Garvey's season, winner Sam Frost glimmered in a shimmering silver, while runner-up Lisa Hyde was sleek in black.

And even the first Bachelor season with Tim Robards saw winner Anna Heinrich wear an off-white number, while runner-up Rochelle Emanuel-Smith sported pink.

The pattern emerging is that the lady wearing a lighter colour, is the one standing at the end with the Bachie on her arm.

So if the theory was applied to Matty's series, it looks like Laura will be the beauty he takes home.

All will be revealed when The Bachelor Australia grand finale airs tonight at 7:30pm on Channel Ten.
