Young Colin Firth was a major babe

We already know him as Bridget Jones’s dishy baby daddy Mark Darcy.

But Colin Firth didn’t just grow into his looks - as it turns out the British actor has always been that handsome.

An old photo of Colin has surfaced online from his first ever movie Another Country.

The film was made back in 1984 when Colin was a young and sprightly 24-year-old.

He went on to do a number of other roles before landing the one that would catapult him to fame – Mr Darcy in the BBC’s production of Pride and Prejudice.

Thankfully, Colin decided to stretch his actngs wings a bit and movie into comedy.

"I was tempted to get into and do some sort of silly stuff," he told Movieline. "Like the fight in Bridget Jones! And good silly stuff. Things like Mamma Mia. You just get out, make a fool of yourself. You know, people sort of see you as this po-faced 18th- or 19th-century remote figure."

Don't worry, Colin. We'll take you at any genre and at any age.
