Ellen's terrifying clown prank

She's the queen of pranks and now Ellen DeGeneres has managed to scare the wits out of actress Sarah Paulson.

While appearing on Ellen's show, the American Horror Story actress had not one, but three, different scares with the 59-year-old host calling in one spooky looking clown to make Sarah jump. Watch Ellen's mega prank in the video above.

"I thought, well, she's in scary movies and scary TV shows all the time, she must love to be scared," Ellen told the audience, before Sarah interrupted with a very serious "No".

Showing the moment the talk show host managed to make her guest jump, Ellen hid in Sarah's dressing room cupboard while the unsuspecting star comes into the room before the show only to end up screaming.

However it didn't end there, with a ghoul creeping up behind Sarah while she chatted to Ellen on stage, before a clown jumped out of a box next to her, causing her to scream and fall out of her chair.

Poor Sarah.

Ironically, in the latest series of American Horror Story, Sarah plays a woman who is terrified of clowns. Is life is imitating art for the actress?
