Hugh Hefner set to be buried beside Marilyn Monroe
He was the ultimate ladies man.
But despite being married three times, Hugh Hefner always had a soft spot for his first ever Playboy cover girl, Marilyn Monroe.
Before his sad passing earlier today, the creator of the ultimate lads mag bought the crypt next to Marilyn so he could 'spend the rest of eternity' beside her.
Despite never actually meeting the iconic blonde pin-up, the Playboy founder said he felt an incredible connection to her.
Talking to CBS back in 2013, the lady lover, then 86, described how much the model meant to him, as she helped create the legendary brand that changed his life forever.
"I feel a double connection to her because she was the launching key to the beginning of Playboy and we were both born in 1926," he said.
As well as their special bond, he described Marilyn as 'the ultimate blonde' admitting he would have loved to have dated her.
When the crypt next to Marilyn's - who died suddenly at the age of 36 - in Westwood Village Memorial Park, in LA, became available in 1992, Hugh snapped it up for a cool $75,000.

Hugh's death today means he's left behind four grown kids and his wife, Crystal, 31.
But he'll finally be able to lie beside Marilyn, something he has thought about for at least 25 years since he bought the burial spot next to hers.
