Simone: 'It was an honour to pose for Playboy'

Following the death of Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner, Australian model Simone Holtznagel says "it was an honour" to pose on the cover of the publication.

The 24-year-old former Australia's Next Top Model star famously stripped down for Playboy's College Issue in October 2015.

Sharing a copy of the cover on Instagram, she has written: "Mr H Hefner. It was an honor to be on the cover of your magazine @playboy. Rest well in the bosoms of what surely will be, absolute, Heaven. It was a pleasure xoxo (sic)".

The blonde bombshell, following in the steps of other Aussies to pose for Playboy including Elle Macpherson and Melissa George, has previously opened up about being a part of the popular publication.

"I kind of struck gold with that," she told The Daily Telegraph last year about scoring the cover. "I’m really glad that I did it."

At the time, she was still waiting on an invitation to the famous Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles.

"I’d go for the experience," she said.

Meanwhile in an interview with Verge Campus in 2015, the runway sensation admitted, "I was exceptionally nervous the night before [the shoot] which isn’t normal for me".

"My mum tried to talk me out of it the night before which made me kind of mad at her (she’s fine now *laughs*) and I had a very long call with one of my amazing agents back home in Australia," she explained.

As for how she physically prepared for the shoot, she said she worked out with her trainer beforehand because it put her "in a good headspace - especially when you know you won’t be wearing much".
