Blade Runner 2049 red carpet cancelled in wake of Vegas shooting
At least 59 have died and more than 500 were injured after a gunman opened fire in Las Vegas on Monday night.
In the wake of the shooting, the red carpet for the Blade Runner 2049 film has been cancelled.
The screening of the highly anticipated 1982 Blade Runner sequel starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford is still due to take place though.
“In light of the tragic events of last night, Warner Bros. Pictures, Sony Pictures and Alcon Entertainment are cancelling the red carpet for tomorrow’s screening of Blade Runner 2049,” Warner Bros. said in a statement.
“We join the rest of the country in sending heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all those affected by this tragedy,” the statement also read.
The tragic events have been recorded as the deadliest mass shooting in US history.

Many celebrities sent messages of support to the people of Las Vegas after the horrific events took place at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival at the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
Taking to social media, Taylor Swift and Rihanna have paid tribute to the victims and their families, while the likes of Blake Lively have called for tighter gun laws.
