Exclusive: Hugh Sheridan laughs off Delta 'romance'

They've been romantically linked for months, but Hugh Sheridan insists he and Delta Goodrem are nothing more than good friends.

Chatting to Be, the 32-year-old actor said despite the persistent tabloid reports of a romance, he can't help but laugh off the speculation he's dating one of his best and close friends.

"I just laugh it off, she's a great friend of mine and anyone would be so lucky to have her but she's just a really great mate and we love hanging out and spending time together. She's part of my support network," Hugh told Be.

"I think people if didn't know I was good friends with Rebel [Wilson]... I remember years ago she invited me to the MTV Movie Awards and then there was a story saying Rebel and I were dating. It's nothing too new. I think people love to speculate and it's kind of flattering in a way. I would love to be linked up with those people."

And despite having to get used to the limelight after his breakout role in Packed to the Rafters, Hugh said it's easier not to read the reports and focus on yourself instead of what others are writing about you.

"You can't believe things you read about yourself in a magazine because if you did it would be soul destroying and you've seen examples of people in the past that have been hurt by things in magazines so I don't pay any attention. I don't think it's always very easy to be in the public eye, the truth is people don't really want the fame but it's something that comes with the job," he added.

Hugh also spoke about his new role as Nestle Wellness ambassador and the Good Life Quiz, which aims to help Aussies find their perfect balance in life.

"For me personally I like the idea of it because the more you have a life that is balance... and the life of an entertainer it's not easy to find balance when you're working on a TV series. It's always unsteady but for me I realised early on I like routine and balance in my life. What I realised is for me personally is sleep and making time to be with my family and friends and eating well," the star said of the new online quiz.

"I guess that's one of the reasons I was excited Nestle started the Good Life Quiz because it certainly raises questions about what is a good life and these days we live in a world where people have become very aspirational and things are sensationalised and with social media, everyone is trying to keep up," Hugh added.

"I feel like things were simpler when we were kids and I think it's great Nestle has created the quiz, it's simple and quite fun and it posed some questions that really impressed me and it's a more complex quiz than I thought it was going to be and the answers that come out at the end I realised I was a 'go-getter' and I'm very active and out doing things."
