Why Stu Laundy wants Sophie Monk's love
He made an OTT arrival on The Bachelorette last night and now Stu Laundy is hoping his search for love will get rid of his "playboy" image.
After sparks instantly flew between him and Bachelorette Sophie Monk, the 44-year-old hotel mogul has told The Daily Telegraph he "saw something" in Sophie that made him want to go on the reality show.
"It's a risk for someone like me to go on the show, I ummed and aahed a lot but what got me over the line was that I just thought I saw something in Soph," Stu told the publication.
"When I first met her it was excellent and I really wanted to meet her again, and I had to go through the rigmarole to do it."
It was revealed during Wednesday night's episode that the 37-year-old and Stu had previously crossed paths in Sydney before meeting being reintroduced on the show.
Meanwhile Stu's brother, Federal Liberal Minister Craig Laundy, told Be about his first reaction to seeing his younger brother trying to woo the former Bardot singer.
"I was very nervous to be honest. I didn’t want him to do! But, he handled himself really well. Although, he absolutely butchered pouring the champagne after getting out of the chopper. Coming from a family of publicans, Dad would have hit the roof if he saw that. Sophie seems to have opened her heart and is being very honest with Australia," Craig told Be.
"He’s got plenty of game and I look forward to watching how it unfolds," he added of his brother's chances against the original eligible bachelors in the mansion. "He’ll give the others a run for their money I’m sure. Knowing Stu like I do, he only knows one way, which is to be absolutely honest."
Stu is hot favourite to win The Bachelorette, with reports swirling the father-of-four is the one to steal Sophie's heart.

Earlier in the morning the Federal MP admitted to KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show that while he and the family haven't met Sophie, he isn't going to let Stu's stint on the reality show go unnoticed.
"You know that awkward you don't know whether to kiss on the right or left cheek... if you look at the footage that is one of Stu's signature moves, he ends up straight in the middle, right on the lips. This is the irony, it's a signature move and of course I'll be analysing it all on Twitter and taking the complete crap out of him," Craig joked to the radio duo.
