The never ending SATC 3 feud explained

After dreams of a third Sex and the City were dashed earlier this week, the feud between Kim Cattrall and the rest of the cast continues to roll on.

Adding fuel to the fire, Willie Garson, who played Carrie Bradshaw's best friend Stanford Blatch in the series, has hit out at the 61-year-old on Twitter after Kim labelled her relationship with lead actress Sarah Jessica Parker, and seemingly the rest of the cast, as "a bit toxic".

Taking to Twitter to air his grievances, the 53-year-old actor lashed out at Kim in a somewhat passive-aggressive manner.

"Dear fans, because I'm "toxic", I'm going to negotiate a contract for 6 months, not come to terms, then say I never wanted to do it anyway," Willie tweeted.

However Kim has stood her ground, refusing to apologise for not signing on, something she maintains she never did and was vocal last year about not wanting to do.

When asked by a fan on Instagram whether or not she could "find a way" for a third installment of the franchise, Kim replied directly, saying her decision reflects her current lifestyle.

"I can't. My heart isn't in it anymore. I've moved on. 61 isn't 53 or 41. I have learned so much from our Sam," Kim replied referencing her character in the series. "She was my hero but I want to rest & not work as much as I have been doing for years. I want a less hectic life. My decision reflects where I am in my life & I can't change that without being unhappy. I hope you'll understand. Kim."

Kim also took the step of retweeting a Perez Hilton article, indicating she would be happy to have her beloved character killed off should a third movie ever go ahead.

And while Willie has been vocal about his disappointment of the flick not going ahead, other members of the cast have also been usually outspoken, including Sarah Jessica and Kristin Davis.

After news broke that the movie would not be getting made, the usually tight-lipped Sarah Jessica made her disappointment vocal.

"It’s over. We’re not doing it. I'm disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story," the actress told Extra.

"It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie."

Not taking the comments lying down, Kim spoke to Piers Morgan after the 52-year-old's comments saying she couldn't understand why her co-star couldn't have been "nicer".

"Me playing [Samantha], that I can assure you will never happen. This isn’t about more money, this is not about more scenes, it’s not about any of those things. This is about a clear decision, an empowered decision in my life to end one chapter and start another. I’m 61. It’s now," she told the British journalist.

"I just wish that Sarah had been nicer. I don’t know what her issue is; I never have," she went on adding that it's clear that being told 'no' and accepting the answer is 'not what happened here... it feels like a toxic relationship."

Sources told Daily Mail last week that the reason SATC3 had come to a halt was because the production studio refused to cater to Kim's "demands", however Kim refuted the reports on social media, saying she was never signed on in the first place.

Meanwhile insiders told People that the reason refused to be a part of the move because she didn't want to be subjected to "one humiliating plot line after another".
