Isla Fisher keeps getting mistaken for Amy Adams

Her flame-red hair makes her one of our most recognisable actresses.

But it seems Isla Fisher is being confused stateside for another redhead and the Keeping Up With The Joneses star thinks it's pretty funny.

Talking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Isla revealed she's regularly mistaken for fellow actress Amy Adams and it makes for some pretty awkward encounters - including with some celebs.

“I was at this fancy Hollywood party... I was at the bar and schmoozing with show-biz types, and the crowds parted and there was Lady Gaga,” Isla said. “She’s heading right towards me and she says, ‘Thank you. Your performance in American Hustle, Amy…'”

Poor Isla, 41, then went on to explain that she couldn't bring herself to correct megastar Gaga, so just nodded along.

“It’s Lady Gaga,” she told Jimmy Kimmel. “I love her so much, I didn’t want to tell her the truth. So I just gracefully thanked her, bowed my head.”

The two gals are in fact friends, having worked together on horror flick Nocturnal Animals.

While the two share a striking resemblance, we can understand that the mum of three wants the world to know she's NOT Amy Adams.

But it's kinda cool to have a celebrity doppelganger.
