EXCLUSIVE: Roxy Jacenko reveals Oliver's pain over cancer diagnosis
PR maven Roxy Jacenko has revealed her husband Oliver Curtis was “upset” he wasn’t around to help during her cancer treatment.
The mum-of-two told Be that she received her cancer diagnosis three weeks after Oli – as she calls him – was sentenced after being convicted of conspiracy to commit insider trading.
He then spent a further 12 months behind bars for the crime.
“It upset Oli that he wasn’t around to help when I got the breast cancer diagnosis because he was incarcerated at the time,” she said.
Now, Roxy said she’s doing all she can to help those organisations she relied on during her illness - and Oli is backing her all the way.
As part of her fundraising for Breast Cancer Month, the 37-year-old has teamed up with TONI&GUY to dye her hair pink.
“I love experimenting and I know I’m in good hands with TONI&GUY,” she said.
Despite the big change, Roxy told Be she’s totally “not nervous” and wouldn’t let just anyone near her trademark locks.
Roxy said the colour change comes with a very important message: “Having experienced breast cancer and still receiving treatment I know how important it is to raise money to help support those with cancer and to help find a cure”.
As for Roxy’s kids, Pixie, six, and three-year-old Hunter, the fashionista said they’re just jealous they too can’t dye their hair.
“If they did, that would mean an immediate suspension from school,” Roxy laughed.
