Brad Pitt confronted Harvey Weinstein over ex Gwyneth Paltrow's claims
Brad Pitt has confirmed that he once confronted alleged sexual predator Harvey Weinstein over his behaviour.
The Troy actor says that he leapt to the defence of his then-girlfriend, Gwyneth Paltrow, in the 1990s when she told him about an incident where she claimed the movie mogul had sexually propositioned her.
Hollywood superstar Gwyneth has worked with Weinstein several times over the years, including on Oscar winning Shakespeare In Love.
The 45-year-old sensationally came forward as one of his alleged victims, telling The New York Times she had been victim to Weinstein's sexual misconduct when she was 22.
After describing an event where she revealed that producer Weinstein grabbed her and tried to lead her into a bedroom to have a joint massage in his hotel, she said she told Brad about it, and he later confronted him.
Brad has now corroborated the Emma star's tale of events.
The sordid scandal surrounding Harvey Weinstein started last Friday when the same newspaper published a series of sexual harassment claims against the movie-maker that span over a series of 30 years.
Since their report, numerous women have come forward to say he acted inappropriately towards them too, including Angelina Jolie, Liz Hurley and Meryl Streep.
Weinstein has denied the claims, vowing to take legal action.
