Harvey Weinstein's wife is leaving him
Harvey Weinstein’s wife, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman, has confirmed she is leaving him.
The 41-year-old has two children with the 62-year-old Hollywood producer – India Pearl, 7, and four-year-old Dashiell Max Robert.
“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions," Georgina said in a statement to People Magazine.
"I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time”.
Her announcement comes off the back of a recording, which was released by The New Yorker, in which Harvey can be heard can be heard aggressively trying to convince French model Ambra Battilana Gutierrez into his hotel room.
In it, the film producer can be heard asking the model to come into his room, before appearing to admit to previously groping her.
Ambra can be heard saying “I don’t feel comfortable”, before Harvey tries to diffuse the situation.
“Honey, don’t have a fight with me in the hallway, please, I’m not going to do anything I swear on my children. Please come in,” he responds in the recording.
He goes on to say “he’s a famous guy”, but things get even more shocking when the model asks in an uncertain voice “Why yesterday you touch my breast?”.
He continues to almost beg for her to come in, admitting to the groping incident when he says “I’m used to that”.
The recording is just one obscene instance of sexual abuse a number of women have accused Harvey of committing.
Most recently Gwyneth Paltrow claimed she was harassed at the age of 22 when she was hired to star in Emma. Harvey placed his hands on the blonde beauty's shoulders and suggested they head to the bedroom for massages.
Angelina Jolie has also come forward claiming that Harvey made unwanted sexual advances towards her in his hotel room during the release of Playing by Heart in the late 1900s.
Meanwhile, stars including Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet have condemned the producer's alleged behaviour.
Harvey has since been fired from his own company, The Weinstein Company, and is planning to enter a treatment facility.
