The tough role that made Margot Robbie cry
She has an acting career spanning over a decade but it seems even some roles can make Margot Robbie cry.
However, it seems for her new movie I, Tonya they were tears of happiness… sort of.
The actress has opened up about her role as Olympic ice skater Tonya Harding to W Magazine and realised that she didn’t know what pain really was until she started training for the film.
The rigorous training schedule required her to train for five days a week for four months.
“I kept my ice skates – but I said goodbye to a whole work of pain that I didn’t realise came along with figure skating,” the 27-year-old told the magazine.
When it came down to training, her choreographer never had any sympathy to offer her but when Margot had a “real skater fall” she was allowed “a minute”.
“I was so proud, with tears streaming down my face,” she told the publication.
At least they were tears of joy.

Tonya Harding became infamous following an attack on her main competitor Nancy Kerrigan who was left unable to compete in the 1994 U.S. Winter Olympics after she was struck in the knee.
Tonya denied being associated with the attack after it came to light that the attack plot was contrived by her ex-husband Jeff Gillooly and her bodyguard, Shawn Eckhardt.
However, she eventually pled guilty and received 500 hours of community service, $205,100AU fine and three years probation. She was also forced to resign from the United States Figure Skating Association.
