Harvey Weinstein's brother calls him a 'world class liar'

Harvey Weinstein's brother Robert (Bob) has now spoken out after a slew of sexual misconduct allegations were levelled against his sibling.

"My brother Harvey is obviously a very sick man," Bob, who is the co-founder of Miramax and The Weinstein Company, has told TMZ in a statement.

"I’ve urged him to seek immediate professional help because he is in dire need of it. His remorse and apologies to the victims of his abuse are hollow. He said he would go away for help and has yet to do so," he added.

Earlier this month the award-winning film producer was fired from his own company - The Weinstein Company - with the board of directors saying "in light of new information about misconduct" Harvey no longer had a role at the company, which he founded in 2005 with Bob.

According to TMZ, insiders claim that Bob, who founded the Miramax subdivision Dimension films in 1992, leaked the sexual harassment claims against his brother to the New York Times, in order to gain control of the company.

But Bob has told the publication that his brother "has proven himself to be a world class liar and now rather than seeking help he is looking to blame others

"His assertion is categorically untrue from A to Z. I pray he gets the help that he needs and I believe that it is him behind all of these stories to distract from his own failure to get help."
