Sunrise hosts poke fun at the Today show
Their rivals have just lost presenter Lisa Wilkinson when she resigned over alleged failed contract negotiations.
So Sunrise hosts, David 'Kochie' Koch and Samantha Armytage, couldn't resist taking a humorous swipe at the Today Show following their huge blow.
The pair were left in hysterics during a live cross with Larry Emdur on The Morning Show, when they realised his co-host Kylie Gillies was missing.
"Where is Kylie?" Kochie said to Larry and Sarah Cumming, who was filing in for the day.
"She has the day off," he replied, before Sarah chipped in, "She has a secret meeting. That's what she told me."
Their quick-witted response jokingly suggested Kylie was going for Today's vacant role, which set the whole team off laughing.
Natalie Barr, who was sat alongside Kochie and Sam, then took a swipe of her own.
"When did she tell you this?" she said. "Before or after 5 o'clock last night?"
'We can't confirm or deny anything, but she is off for the day," Larry responded.
Australian television presenter Lisa Wilkinson announced last night she was leaving Today after 10 years.
She will be starting her new role on The Project in the New Year, alongside co-hosts, Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar.
Judging from their giggles, it seems the Sunrise team seem pretty happy with the news.
