Will Sylvia Jeffreys be paid more because of Lisa Wilkinson?
She's widely tipped to fill Lisa Wilkinson's shoes after her sudden departure from the Today show.
Now reports suggest Sylvia Jeffreys may well be in for a hefty pay rise as well as a new job.
The blonde journalist's contract is set to expire at the end of the year and according to reports on News.com.au, Lisa's sudden departure will put her in a strong position to negotiate her salary.
Lisa is said to have left because of a gender pay dispute, something Nine are said to want to avoid during their talks with Sylvia.
Sylvia, who has worked on the brekkie show since 2014 as their news presenter, is regarded as a 'rising star' in the industry and it's thought Nine couldn't cope losing another high-profile face.
Lisa Wilkinson sensationally announced earlier this week that she was leaving the breakfast programme after 10 years after failing to reach an agreement over her contract.
An hour later, it was revealed she had taken a position on The Project.
Sylvia is married to current Today Show co-host Karl Stefanovic’s brother, Peter, who is also at journalist at Nine.
