Karl Stefanovic's ex says he's 'dead' to her

Their break-up left many shocked, and now the former wife of Today host, Karl Stefanovic, has spoken out about the sudden demise of her 21 year marriage.

Speaking to Woman's Day, Cassandra Thorburn, 45, lifted the lid on life after Karl, confessing she has moved on after being jilted by the father of her three kids.

"The children still have a father but I don't have a husband," she told the publication. "He really is dead to me and no, we won't ever be friends again."

However, the single mum admitted it had been a tough 15 months and she had found it difficult to "adjust".

"I was completely gazumped when I realised Karl had gone," she said. "I questioned and doubted myself about everything."

Revealing there were many "dark days" when she couldn't get off the couch and relied on friends to cook for her and the kids, Jackosn 18, Ava, 12, and River, ten.

It was those small "acts of kindness" and being a mum that she credits in helping her "rediscover" life.

Karl, 43, left Cassandra in October of last year and just months later, started a relationship with shoe designer, Jasmine Yarbrough, 33.

Though it's not clear if his new girlfriend has met his kids yet, their relationship appears to be going strong with the pair being snapped together at several events.
