Director James Toback accused of sexual harassment

Just weeks after the Harvey Weinstein scandal rocked Hollywood, another film heavyweight is embroiled in a case of sexual harassment claims.

Director James Toback, is said to have allegedly harassed 38 women, reports The Los Angeles times.

Several women have come forward for the report, while 72-year-old Toback denies the allegations to the publication.

The report includes allegations that the Two Girls and a Guy director pleasured himself in front of women and asked them sexual questions.

Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn has since come out, taking aim at Toback in a Facebook post.

"When I lived in New York, in the 'nineties, this dude was EVERYWHERE. I have personally met at least FIFTEEN WOMEN, probably more, who say that he's accosted them in NYC," he wrote.

"He essentially goes up to women and says, 'Hey, I'm James Toback, and I'm a famous director, and I feel like there's a connection between us.'

"Then he shows them some article on himself or some other artifact to prove he is who he is, and tries to get them to go somewhere else with him. He has done this to three girls I’ve dated, two of my very best friends, and a family member... twice."

Gunn says in the post he has been telling people about Toback for the past two decades.

It seems now, as the Me Too campaign kicks off following the Harvey Weinstein scandal, women have come forward with their stories.

Earlier this month a slew of sexual misconduct allegations were levelled against Weinstein.

The award-winning film producer was then fired from his own company - The Weinstein Company - with the board of directors saying "in light of new information about misconduct" Harvey no longer had a role at the company, which he founded in 2005 with his brother Robert Weinstein.
