Matt Damon 'knew' Weinstein harassed Gwyneth
Matt Damon has revealed he "knew" about Harvey Weinstein allegedly sexually harassing actress Gwyneth Paltrow in the 90s.
Speaking about the disgraced producer on Good Morning America alongside George Clooney, the 47-year-old said it was best friend Ben Affleck who told him what happened.
"I knew the story about Gwyneth from Ben because he was with her after [her relationship with] Brad [Pitt]," the Oscar winner told Michael Strahan on the program.
"I never talked to Gwyneth about it. Ben told me. But I knew that they had come to whatever agreement or understanding that they had come to. She had handled it, and she was the first lady of Miramax. And he treated her incredibly respectfully, always."
Following an investigation by the New York Times that outed Harvey for three decades of sexual harassment towards female employees and actresses, Gwyneth confirmed that she was subjected harassment in the early days of her career.
"I was a kid... I was petrified," the 46-year-old actress told the newspaper about her 1996 encounter with Harvey, where he allegedly invited her up to his hotel room for a "work meeting"before asking for a massage.

Gwyneth added she told then-boyfriend Brad Pitt about the encounter who "very clearly and strongly and unequivocally" confronted Harvey about his actions shortly afterwards.
However, Matt insists he had no idea Harvey's behaviour was so rampant and it extended beyond that situation with Gwyneth.
"When people say, 'Everybody knew,' like yeah, I knew he was an a–hole. He was proud of that. That’s how he carried himself," Matt added.
"I knew he was a womanizer. You know, I wouldn’t want to be married to the guy. But that’s not my business really. This level of criminal sexual predation was not something I ever thought was going on."
