Kathy Griffin: ‘Harvey Weinstein is not a single case’
Kathy Griffin has joined the ranks of many Hollywood A-listers coming out with their own accounts of disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein.
While appearing on The Project last night, the comedian weighed in on how sexual harassment is an “epidemic” in Hollywood. Watch the clip above.
“Harvey Weinstein. He’s not one single case,” she admitted. “The white middle-aged guys and older guys who are truly running every single network and every studio in the United States, they all behave this way.”
“And everyone covers for them,” she added.
Kathy also recalled a time she was sitting next to him at an event and he was “bragging about the wife who worked for the house of Balenciaga”.
“I remember him saying, ‘Oh maybe my wife could dress you some time like for the Emmys or something like that,’” the 56-year-old recalled.
“I remember thinking, ‘I wonder if that’s one of the ways he would ensnare some young actresses,’ Kathy said.
It turns out the comedian had seen an article in the Los Angeles Times claiming that was one of his tactics to attract young actresses to come to his hotel room.
Weinstein is under investigation following the mounting number of women who have stood up and claimed he assaulted them in some way.
The 65-year-old has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.
