Trouble in paradise for Sophie Monk and Stu Laundy?

They've finally gone public with their romance, and just moments before making their debut TV appearance as a couple, Sophie Monk and Stu Laundy were spotted engaging in what looked like a tense conversation.

The Bachelorette couple were seen speaking to each other in the Channel Ten carpark prior to going on the show.

Sophie was yet to change into her onscreen outfit, and the pair were not alone.

The 37-year-old former Bardot singer's best friend Oscar Gordon, who she recently holidayed with, was by her side at one stage.

When Stu wasn't speaking to Sophie, he was seen puffing on an unhealthy cigarette.

As soon as Sophie and Stu sat down at The Project desk later that evening, they were asked the big question by panelist Meshel Laurie.

"Now I have to ask this one straight up, are you two still together?"

Sophie initially hesitated and looked at Stu, before saying, "I think so", and gesturing to the fact that they were both sitting there.

"Of course we are," Soph added.

On Thursday night the nation watched as Sophie chose Stu Laundy over Jarrod Woodgate in a dramatic finale.
