Linkin Park honours Chester Bennington

Linkin Park has paid tribute to their late frontman Chester Bennington, taking to the stage for the first time since his unexpected passing.

The band was joined by fellow musicians over the weekend at the Hollywood Bowl, including Blink 182, Jonathan Davis from Korn, Kiiara, Zedd, and members from No Doubt, System of a Down, Yellowcard, and Avenged Sevenfold, as they honoured the 41-year-old who died in July.

Performing some of their biggest hits in front of a sold-out crowd, the concert was also live streamed on their website and fees from the evening donated to Music For Relief’s One More Light Fund.

Chester along with his bandmates established the Music for Relief charity in 2004 following the Indian Ocean tsunami, with the One More Light Fund being set up following the singer's death.

"I know it’s going to be a rollercoaster of emotion, but when we talk about this, when we’re focusing on the show, it’s really about celebrating life," bandmate Mike Shinoda told KROQ before the tribute concert.

Earlier this month the band released their Apple Music Carpool Karaoke epsiode starring Chester, which was filmed only days before his death.

The episode saw Chester and band mates Mike and Joe Hahn driving around with comedian and actor Ken Jeong, and now includes a special tribute to Chester at the start.

The band filmed the episode earlier this year on July 14, less than a week before Chester was found dead in his LA home on July 20.
