The Weeknd ‘caught off guard’ by Selena Gomez split

The Weeknd and Selena Gomez have reportedly split after 10 months of dating, after she was spotted out and about with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

However, it seems The Weeknd – real name Abel Tesfaye – didn’t see the break-up coming at all.

Radar Online reports the 27-year-old was “completely caught off guard” by the split and Selena didn’t break it off in the nicest way either.

A source told the outlet after she was spotted out with Justin, the 25-year-old “just cut him off”.

“She didn’t call The Weeknd or text him to officially end things and he thinks it is super shady,” the source added.

A “close friend” of Selena’s also told the publication that she and her ex-beau are “just friends” and she is “helping Justin find God” despite her family being “sceptical”.

The Hands To Myself singer recently opened up about her kidney transplant and how her best friend, actress Francia Raísa, donated one of her kidneys to her.

The selfless act saved Selena’s life as her kidneys were shutting down due to her battle with lupus.

"As soon as I got the kidney transplant, my arthritis went away. My lupus there’s about a 3-5% chance it’ll ever come back," Selena said in her emotional interview with US morning show Today.

"My blood pressure is better, my energy, my life has been better."
