Selena Gomez named Billboard's 'Woman of the Year'
Her love life might be up in the air at the moment.
But Selena Gomez has got her personal life down pat.
And it seems it hasn't gone unnoticed as the Fetish singer has been named Billboard’s 2017 Woman of the Year.
The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group announced she would be honoured earlier today in a statement that credited the former Disney star as a selfless artist, after bravely speaking out about her kidney transplant earlier this year.
“Not only is Selena soaring on the charts, but she continuously inspires young women everywhere to be authentic, give back and to not be afraid to use their voice,” the president of the organisation said.
“She is never afraid to speak her mind and has used her platform to advocate for the needs of others," he added. "We are thrilled to be able to honour her as our Woman of the Year.”
In September, Selena revealed on Instagram that she'd undergone the organ transplant to treat the chronic auto-immune disease she suffers from called lupus.
Her BFF Francia Raisa donated the much-needed kidney.
Since then she has shared her emotional journey in a bid to raise awareness of the condition and help others going through a similar situation.
The news must be a bit of light relief for Selena, who according to Radar Online, has just split from her boyfriend The Weeknd.
It's believed she gave Abel Tesfaye the boot after "reuniting" with her ex, Justin Bieber.
