Jarrod's heartbreaking Bachelorette confession

Last week Australia was forced to watch the moment Jarrod Woodgate's heart broke in two as Sophie Monk squashed it into the sand after she dumped him on The Bachelorette, and a lot of people are still not over it.

And one of those people who aren't over it is (understandably so) Jarrod himself, and now the 31-year-old vineyard manager has revealed just how devastated he was when the 37-year-old blonde beauty ripped his heart out and chose Stu Laundy over him.

"I was gonna jump in [the ocean] with the mic on, and just keep walking," a heartbroken Jarrod tells OK! Magazine.

"It was pretty brutal. I'm still devastated about it," he added before revealing he also "did have a bit of a tear up" while re-living the moment during the televised finale.

"It's hard watching yourself get your heart broken, and you know the ending and you're sitting there, watching it."

Despite being labelled a stage-five clinger throughout the series, fans were left feeling sorry for Jarrod after he was left sobbing on the beach after the former Bardot singer confessed her heart "belonged to someone else."

It was a long and lonely walk across the sand for wine enthusiast Jarrod, who couldn't hold back his tears after the brutal dumping.

And although it was tough to watch, it seems Jarrod still holds a flame for his former love interest, after revealing to News Corp he's still pining for Sophie.

"Right now if Sophie was to call me and say, 'let's catch up for a drink' I'd do it," he told the publication last week. "Because I'm always going to be there for Soph, even if it works out or if it doesn't."

Jarrod added that while he will need time to overcome the break-up, he doesn't intend on saying goodbye to their friendship.

"Just because we say 'goodbye' doesn't mean we say 'goodbye' to our friendship. I'm still there for Sophie and I will be because it's a heartbreak."
