Kevin Spacey's brother says actor inherited 'twisted genes'
Kevin Spacey's older brother has spoken out about the sexual misconduct claims surrounding the Hollywood actor.
Commenting on the numerous allegations that have recently come to light, Randall Fowler, 61, said he felt his famous sibling may have inherited "twisted genes" from their "abusive" late-father, Thomas Geoffrey Fowler.
"I’ve never had children in case that evil personality could be passed on," he told The Sun. “Now it sadly seems one of us may carry those twisted genes, and that person might be Kevin."
Last week, Spacey was accused of sexual misconduct in 1986, by actor Anthony Rapp, who was 14 at the time.
The House of Cards actor initially issued an apology in which he also publicly came out as gay for the first time, aged 58.
But a string of other men have since come forward with claims of their own, including a British barman who said Spacey tried to "silence" him by giving him a swanky watch.
Randall has now added more heat to the fire, by suggesting the two-time Oscar winner turned to acting and changed his name to hide a “dark side” that he feels stems from a childhood of abuse and denials about his sexuality.
“His fans love the sinister characters he plays, but he’s not acting, that’s really him," Randall said. "He hid behind his acting career to maintain a secret sordid life and in reality he was a monster."
“I’ve long suspected there was a dark side to him," he added. "I just hope he gets the help he needs so nobody else is harmed by him.”
The backlash from the allegations has been huge, with Spacey's Netflix show being axed and the star stating he's seeking "evaluation and treatment."
Spacey is one of many in Hollywood who have been accused of inappropriate sexual behaviour in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.
