Boho and boots: Paris Jackson's unusual race day look

Paris Jackson is the talk of the town after she made her highly-anticipated Melbourne Cup debut.

But instead of a traditional frock, hat and heels combo that's usually seen frequenting Flemington, the daughter of the late Michael Jackson rocked her own unique look.

Dressed in Australian designer Morrison Clothing, she wore a $599 frilly rust coloured dress that she teamed with worn brown boots.

She finished the look with a crown made from five individual crystals, that ensured Paris stood out on the black carpet and was an affectionate nod to her princess of pop status.

According to Sydney Morning Herald, the IT girl actually shunned her pre-planned custom made Alex Perry gown in favour of her own hippie style.

The gemstones in her crown are an item that's been gaining popularity in the jewellery world because of their spiritual connection and healing powers.

The uber casual ensemble is a far cry from the glitz and glam usually witnessed at Melbourne Cup.

The 19-year-old model is trackside today as a guest of fashion giant Myer where she'll host Fashions on the Field.

Paris also spoke about her choice of outfit to Seven's Rachael Finch.

"This is one of the first times I get to fully express myself," Paris said.

She also revealed that unique her headpiece was actually made of "quartz" crystals.
