Gal Gadot's 'conditions' for Wonder Woman 2
It was one of the biggest movies of 2017, but Gal Gadot has conditions if there's going to be a sequel to Wonder Woman.
The 32-year-old actress will reportedly only sign onto a second movie if disgraced director Brett Ratner isn't involved at all with the franchise, according to Page Six.
Ratner has been accused by several actresses of sexual misconduct after a Los Angeles Times exposé revealed his behaviour, and although his production company RatPac-Dune Entertainment co-produced the first movie, Gal doesn't want the franchise to benefit him in any way.
An insider told the outlet that the actress "backed out of a dinner honoring Ratner" shortly after the allegations came to light, despite the fact she was due to "present him with an award", and "is taking a strong stance on sexual harassment in Hollywood".
"Brett made a lot of money from the success of Wonder Woman, thanks to his company having helped finance the first movie," the source added to Page Six. "Now Gadot is saying she won’t sign for the sequel unless Warner Bros. buys Brett out [of his financing deal] and gets rid of him."
"She’s tough and stands by her principles. She also knows the best way to hit people like Brett Ratner is in the wallet.
"She also knows that Warner Bros. has to side with her on this issue as it develops. They can’t have a movie rooted in women’s empowerment being part-financed by a man accused of sexual misconduct against women," the source added.
The Israeli-born star has been vocal about her stance on sexual harassment in Hollywood writing on Instagram: "Bullying and sexual harassment is unacceptable!
"I stand by all the courageous women confronting their fears and speaking out. Together we stand. We are all united in this time of change."
Page Six adds that Warner Bros. intends to end their working relationship with the Entourage producer after multiple sexual-harassment allegations were made against him by actresses including Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge.
