Paris Hilton: 'Me and Britney invented the selfie'

Her former bestie Kim Kardashian is known as the queen of the selfies.

But Paris Hilton has taken another stab at the crown by sharing snaps she took back in 2006 with singer Britney Spears as evidence she invented the popular photo technique.

The hotel heiress, 36, shared two photos on Twitter with the caption, "11 years ago today, Me & Britney invented the selfie!"

In the throwbacks, Paris takes another swipe at Kim, 37, who she has famously had a long running feud with.

Kim has been known as the selfie queen since the release of her 2015 book Selfish, which was a collection of the reality star's personal selfies.

It's not the first time Paris, who is now a successful DJ, has tried to take the credit for the self-snapping art form.

In an interview with W Magazine in May, she said she spearheaded the phenomena.

“If a beeper had a camera, I would have taken a selfie with it,” she told the publication. “I think I have a selfie from when I was a little kid, like on a disposable camera.”

Seeing as Kim recently declared that selfies were dead by saying they were "kind of a few years ago," she might be happy to let Paris take the reign these days.

Britney has yet to comment on the post, which has received over 23,000 retweets since it was shared.
