It's almost been three years since the death of Aussie cricketer Phillip Hughes, who tragically passed away on November 27th of 2014, and was close friend and teammate of Former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke.

"I think about him every day to be honest," the 36-year-old said. "I have a lot of stuff around my house that reminds me of him daily, so it’ll be no different on his birthday and on the anniversary of his death."

Michael who is the ambassador of the luxury watch brand Hublot, attended a luncheon to celebrate the partnership with The Ashes, and to promote their limited addition LVMH timepiece Maison watch at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Monday.

But there was more than just an exciting new partnership on Michael's mind, rather the memory of his late friend Phillip.

"I'm at this event here at the SCG, which is where he passed away," he said. "People say time heals, but unfortunately at this stage for me nothing's really healed. I miss him every day."

The former cricket captain went on to share how he copes with the loss of his friend on a day-to-day basis.

"I try to cling on to the happy times we had together," he revealed. "I try to on a daily basis think about the times we celebrated, we partied, we sat on the couch, we went for coffee or had breakfast."

"I think that’s the stuff that I hang on to daily that keeps me smiling keeps me going forward and keeps me thinking about him in a really positive way."

And although it's been tough he says he can always rely on his wife Kyly and daughter Kelsey-Lee to lift him back up.

"My wife and my daughter are both amazing, I love them both so much.

Michael and Kyly tied the knot back in May 2012 in Wolgan Valley, Blue Mountains.

They celebrated their daughter Kelsey-Lee's second birthday last Thursday at their home in an intimate setting with close friends and family.
