Lisa Wilkinson says Georgie Gardner will 'nail it' as Today host
It has been announced that Georgie Gardner is to replace Lisa Wilkinson on Today but it seems there is no bad blood between the pair.
The 57-year-old has sent her "warmest congratulations" to Georgie following the confirmation she will be filling the empty seat alongside Karl Stefanovic.
"Warmest congratulations to my friend @GeorgieG who has just been announced as the new co-host of @TheTodayShow," Lisa wrote on Twitter. "She will nail it."

Georgie said she was "deeply honoured" to take on the role.
"Can I say I'm deeply honoured to take this on," Georgie said following the announcement on Thursday morning. "You know, there's no bigger, better gig in Australian TV."
The 46-year-old said she was thrilled with the "wonderful opportunity to hopefully reconnect with viewers in every corner of this country".
Georgie also praised her predecessor Lisa.
"Of course, you know, big shoes to fill," she said. "I know acutely how much love and respect there has been for Lisa."
"She will always be part of the Today show landscape as will the women who went before her," Georgie continued. "It's an enormous role. I'm deeply grateful. Can't wait to get started."
It comes after Lisa's shock exit from the network last month with reports she demanded the same pay as co-host Karl.
Lisa has reportedly scooped a $2 million dollar pay-packet in her new role with Ten on The Project.
