She was vocal about her joy following the marriage equality 'Yes' postal vote and now Ruby Rose has spoken about the "surreal moment" on Wednesday, hearing the same-sex marriage bill was passed in Senate.

Speaking to Be at the Australian premiere of Pitch Perfect 3, the actress was overjoyed the premiere fell on the same day the bill was passed.

"Unbelievable," she gushed to Be. "The amount of feelings I have, the amount of goosebumps. It's just such a surreal moment."

The 31-year-old was also extremely thankful to have her mum and her girlfriend Jessica Orgalisso - one half of The Veronicas - who attended the event with her.

"It's a really nice way to do this all on home ground," she continued.

The same-sex marriage bill was passed through the Australian Senate on Wednesday with 43 votes in favour to 12 votes for against.

The actress also revealed how nervous she was having her mum, Katia Langenheim, accompanying her to her premiere.

"I've never sat and watched one of my films with my mum," Ruby admitted to Be.

She was nervous due to playing such a "vulnerable" role compared to the action roles she is used to.

"I'm going to be here with my mum sitting there watching this film. That's what I was nervous about," she said.
