Jennifer Lawrence admits she's an 'an a**hole' to fans in public

Jennifer Lawrence is known as Hollywood's sweetheart.

But the actress has just unveiled a whole new side to herself after she described behaving like "an a**hole" deliberately to avoid fans.

In an interview with Adam Sandler for Variety, the Hunger Games star discussed the unwanted attention that comes with their jobs.

“Once I enter a public place, I become incredibly rude,” Jennifer said.

“I turn into a huge a***hole," she continued. "That’s my only way of defending myself."

Jennifer has had huge success in Hollywood since starring in the Hunger Games trilogy, filming alongside Chris Pratt in Passengers and Bradley Cooper inSilver Linings Playbook.

She went on to explain how she sometimes gestures fans away if she sees them approaching and even says "no" to selfies.

“Like, if it’s Sunday, I’m like, ‘It’s Sunday, I’m not working today'," the 27-year-old said.

Her honesty however has angered some fans, who think the comments sound "ungrateful."

Jennifer addressed the fine line between privacy and being grateful to fans in a conversation with Vogue, telling them “I’m happy to meet people, give autographs, shake hands, and say ‘Thank you’."

"I wouldn’t have a job if people weren’t going to see my movies," she added. "It’s just . . . if I’m on an airplane and I have no make-up on, I don’t want to take a selfie that’s going to end up on E!”

Happy Gilmore creator Adam Sandler also revealed his technique for swerving unwanted attention, saying he always responds to requests for a photo by telling them they don't really want one.
