Emma Booth ditches formal dress code for jeans

While the AACTA Awards luncheon is known to be a formal occasion in the lead up to Australian cinema and television's night of nights, one actress opted for more casual attire at the red carpet event on Monday.

Former Underbelly: The Golden Mile star Emma Booth stepped out in a pair of blue jeans for the industry event, proving comfort comes first for the stunning actress.

The 35-year-old star teamed her fitted denim trousers with a bright printed blouse, and a statement faux-fur jacket was layered over it.

In a pair of black knee-high boots, Emma casually posed for photographers while keeping her hands in her pockets.

She wore her ginger locks in a sleek topknot bun, and completed her look with a maroon handbag.

The television star attended the event with her musician husband, Dominick Joseph Lunar.

Other actresses such as Isabelle Cornish and Melina Vidler arrived in stylish white dresses, while the likes of Emma Lung and Shaynna Blaze sported sleek jumpsuits.

The luncheon kicks off a week of celebrations for the Australian film industry, with the AACTA Awards to be held in Sydney on Wednesday.

Over the weekend acclaimed actor Geoffrey Rush stepped down as President of AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema & Television Arts), following allegations of 'inappropriate behaviour' having been made against him.
