Adriana Lima slams reports she's hanging up Victoria's Secret wings
Long-time Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima has shut down rumours she's ending her work with the lingerie brand.
The striking Brazilian has walked in their annual catwalk for the last 18 years, but sparked rumours she was about to split from the company after saying she would "no longer take my clothes off for an empty cause" in an Instagram post.
However the 36-year-old brunette has been forced to explain her comments and insists she has no plans to depart the Victoria's Secret show, which sees gorgeous models strut their stuff in their signature racy underwear, wearing the iconic wings.
A spokesperson for the supermodel told People that Adriana received an offer that "was not aligned" with her desired "direction."
"Adriana is blessed to be able to work with all of the brands she does including Victoria's Secret," her person told the publication, explaining her social media post was meant to encourage "female empowerment," not create a storm.
Adrianna, who has been one of the world's highest-paid models for several years, first walked in the glamorous catwalk show for the label in 1999 aged just 18.
Ahead of her 18th appearance for the luxe undies label, she told People her goal was to reach a milestone 20 years with the brand.
"I plan to be at 20," she said. "Two more years. Maybe more, I don't know."
She was also named the "most valuable Victoria's Secret Angel" according to analytics company D'Marie in January, 2017.
