KAK on infamous John Stamos interview: 'It was fabulous'

It made for more than entertaining TV and now Kerri-Anne Kennerley has revealed what she really thought about her now-infamous interview with "f***ing drunk" John Stamos.

Back in 2007 the Full House actor appeared on the 64-year-old's live morning show Kerri-Anne, rambling and cuddling up to the Queen of Australian TV, and despite the unconventional nature of the chat Kerri-Anne recalls the segment as "fabulous".

"I loved it. All the executives were starting to panic, but I thought it was fabulous," Kerri-Anne told TV Week.

Meanwhile the interview has continued to haunt John, with the 54-year-old actor confessing to being "plastered" in 2009.

"Yes, I was on sleeping pills and I was jet-lagged but I was also just plastered," he told The Advocate at the time.

"And I never said I wasn’t, but that whole Warner Bros publicity machine got involved and said, 'Just say he was jet-lagged'. I said, 'No, tell 'em the truth! I was f***ing drunk in Australia.'"

Kerri-Anne and John were reunited in 2014, with KIISFM's Kyle and Jackie O Show bringing them together on their radio show, with the TV personality insisting there was no bad blood between herself and the American star.

"We had so much fun," Kerri-Anne said at the time. "Maybe I was the only one on the [studio] floor having fun that morning - but John, you and I got along like a house on fire!

"You did some crazy things with a headpiece in front of your body, you put your arm around me... a girl doesn't want any more than that. Australia loved you, John.

"All I can say is, there was never anything [negative] between you and I, but people enjoyed it and we had a lot of fun- and isn't that the business we're in? Entertainment- we're here to have fun!"

John joked that the Aussie way of drinking contributed to his excessive intake of alcohol before the interview, and revealed Americans were less amused by his antics once news of the interview reached his native US.

"I'm not blaming any Australians, but I got off the plane (in Sydney) and they were like, 'Hey, mate! Come have some drinks with us!' But over here [the US] I had to apologise - and then they were saying 'Oh should John Stamos go to rehab?'"
