Minnie Driver slams ex Matt Damon's sexual misconduct comments
Matt Damon’s ex-girlfriend Minnie Driver has spoken out at comments he made regarding sexual misconduct in Hollywood.
The actress told The Guardian that men, “simply cannot understand what abuse is like on a daily level” and called out her former partner and Good Will Hunting co-star over his recent comments on sexual misconduct.
Matt Damon had previously told ABC News that alleged sexual misconduct against women by powerful men involved “a spectrum of behaviour" and that there were varying degrees of inappropriate behaviour that should not all be viewed the same way.
Taking to Twitter, the Will & Grace star initially responded "God God, SERIOUSLY?" to reports on Matt's comments.
She then went on to blast her former boyfriend, calling him "tone deaf" over his opinion surrounding the sex scandal that has engulfed Hollywood in recent months.

When social media users tried to defend Matt'sremarks, which included saying, "there’s a difference between, you know, patting someone on the butt and rape or child molestation," Minnie remained strong.
No. You don’t get to be hierarchical with abuse. And you don’t get to tell women that because some guy only showed them their penis their pain isnt as great as a woman who was raped.

Minnie wasn't the only Hollywood actress to criticise her ex, as Charmed star Alyssa Milano also attempted to school the Downsizing actor on sexual assault.
“I have been a victim of each component of the sexual assault spectrum of which you speak," she said. "They all hurt. And they are all connected to a patriarchy intertwined with normalised, accepted – even welcomed – misogyny.” she tweeted.
“We are not outraged because someone grabbed our asses in a picture," she continued. "We are outraged because we were made to feel this was normal. We are outraged because we have been gaslighted. We are outraged because we were silenced for so long.”
After sparking a huge reaction on social media, Minnie, 47, went on to tell the Guardian that she "desperately needed to say something."
"I’ve realised that most men, good men, the men that I love, there is a cut-off in their ability to understand," she told the publication. "They simply cannot understand what abuse is like on a daily level."
“I honestly think that until we get on the same page, you can’t tell a woman about their abuse," she continued. "A man cannot do that. No one can. It is so individual and so personal, it’s galling when a powerful man steps up and starts dictating the terms, whether he intends it or not.”
Matt Damon, who is a dad of four girls, has previously spoken out about Harvey Weinstein, who has been at the centre of the sex scandal after being accused of sexual misconduct by a mounting number of women.
"This level of alleged criminal sexual predation is not something I ever thought was going on," he said, admitting he knew Weinstein was a womaniser.
He has yet to comment on the backlash surrounding his remarks.
