Former 90210 star Jason Priestley has become the latest celebrity to speak out against Harvey Weinstein.
Recalling an incident that happened more than 20 years ago, the actor said he punched the disgraced movie producer at a Golden Globes party in 1995 after he allegedly became aggressive towards him.
In a series of posts shared on Twitter, he described how Weinstein allegedly grabbed him by the arm when he tried to leave, resulting in the one-time heart-throb defending himself by punching him in the face.
“95 Golden Globes... at the Miramax Party,” he began. “Harvey told me I had to leave...
"I was leaving when he grabbed me by the arm," he continued. "And said ‘what are you doing?’ I said ‘you told me leave, I’m leaving.’”
He continued, explaining how things quickly became heated.
“He then grabs me tighter and says ‘why don’t we go outside and talk about this,’" Jason said. "That was all I needed to hear.”
The 48-year-old said he told him, "I’m not going anywhere with you," as he pushed back and "punched him with a right hand to his face".
After, security guards apparently pulled them apart and Jason was escorted out of the party.
The shocking story comes in response to a tweet written by actress Mira Sorvino, who speculated she was blacklisted by Weinstein after refusing his advances, something actress Tara Strong, believes may have happened to Jason too after the incident.
As to how the whole thing ended, Jason responded to these claims, revealing that his team urged him to write an apology.
“Harvey was powerful, my team strongly advised me to write him an apology the next day,” Jason concluded.
Weinstein hasn't commented on the alleged incident.
